Manufacturing Company  is looking for a dynamic Asst. Controller or Controller with an analytical mind and fantastic organizational skills. The ideal candidate for this position is detail oriented, has strong problem-solving skills, works comfortably under pressure and delivers on tight deadlines. S/he is a critical thinker, proficient in math and accuracy with a solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. The top candidates will have a positive attitude, strong relationship building and collaboration skills, judgment, team work, people management, the desire to learn and succeed, and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion, diligence and good judgment. Comfort with frequently shifting priorities is a must.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring redundancy for every critical operation
  • Evaluate, develop and improve department controls, systems and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Accurately and timely manage month end, quarter and year-end financial close
  • Management reporting preparation and/or supervision – weekly flash reports, cash projections, monthly financial statements
  • Weekly borrowing base preparation & reporting
  • Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments
  • Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel
  • Manage YE audit
  • Spearhead data rooms for financial and tax audits
  • Complete end of month close procedures, including account reconciliations
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures
  • Assist with the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools
  • Assist in preparing presentations to Board of Directors and Senior Management Team
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting requests and analyze financial information
  • Other Duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related (required)
  • CPA preferred
  • 5+ years relevant Accounting work experience

   Must have Job Costing Experience

M     Sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting best practices

  • Ability to analyze financial statements and identify areas of risk
  • Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, ambiguity and meet tight deadlines
  • Critical thinker with a high proficiency in math
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent leadership, communication and IT skills
  • Comfort and strong history managing, manipulating and summarizing large datasets into meaningful analysis
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel, and Accounting software packages
  • Knowledge of SQL a strong advantage!
  • Ability to work overtime
