Our client, a rapidly growing private REIT composed of a portfolio of diversified net leased industrial and healthcare real estate assets, is looking to hire a VP Finance. This role will be ideally based in Palm Beach, Florida, but could sit in Nasvhille, TN. Relocation will be considered for the right person.
Position Summary: The VP Finance is responsible for overseeing the monthly financial statement close and consolidation of subsidiary financial information, preparing the consolidated financial statements of the parent REIT, all holding businesses and properties, overseeing the timely completions of the annual financial statement audits of consolidated financial statements and evaluating events and transactions for the appropriate accounting treatment. Someone with deal execution experience on the backend, to support C Suite executives with post close integration, minimization of taxation, and scaling of the acquired properties, is highly desirable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:
- Oversight of accounting functions including, but not limited to, recording, reconciling and reporting accounting transactions on a monthly basis
- Establishing and managing compliance with a monthly close and reporting schedule
- Supervision of a team that prepares and records asset, liability, revenue and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Proves oversight and guidance to the accounting team in connection with the annual audits; interacts with independent auditors as a primary point of contact
- Determines the appropriate accounting treatment of significant events and transactions, with support from subject matters experts
- Prepares schedules and exhibits for financial reporting to parent company, government regulators and auditors, lenders and other requests for financial information
- Prepares financial analyses, with support from the team
- Prepares monthly compliance with government-mandated net worth, liquidity and related measures
- Supports the quarterly and annual forecast process
- Oversees tax compliance requirements
- Oversees and approves updates to accounting policies and procedures
- Performs technical accounting research related to new or newly applicable accounting principles
- Coordinates with parent company finance teams on accounting and reporting matters
- Other duties as may be determined by the Parent Company Chief Financial Officer

- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- MBA in Accounting or Finance
- CPA license
- Public Accounting/ Audit (Big 4 or Large Regional firm)
- Experience with Publicly traded financials and REIT structures
- Experience with Healthcare REITs
- Knowledgeable with post deal close integration
- Knowledgeable with tax
- Thorough understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Oversee the accounting responsibilities of an accounting team
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with varying levels of difficulty
